ABA ROLI Balkan Regional Rule of Law Network held a Steering Committee meeting December 08-09, 2017, in Skopje. Participants of the meeting were representatives from Bar Associations from Macedonia, Serbia and Kosovo and representatives from CSO’s from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania, members of the BRRLN. This meeting marked the continuation of the activities of the Network in the upcoming year. The President of the BRRLN, Mr. Nikola Dodevski (President of the Macedonian Bar Association) expressed his satisfaction from the results accomplished in the past two years and hopes to continue the good work in the upcoming period. He also presented the BRRLN governing structure and introduced the new Executive director of the Network. The representatives of the Bars and the CSO’s reported on the working group projects and presented their ideas on further possible follow ups. ABA ROLI’s staff gave a presentation of the E-learning platform and the BRRLN web site and discussed possibilities of improving its functionality. The last part of the meeting focused on ideas for future projects. Ms. Lisa Rousso. ABA ROLI’s Legal expert shared a number of topics emphasizing the possible areas that the BRRLN could focus in their future projects. The participants shared their views for each one and concluded that every project that BRRLN will consider in the future should embody an element of capacity building and ways of support to the Bar Associations and Layers profession.
